Powerful People Who Care

January 20, 2010

City of Fort Lauderdale Mayor Jack Seiler, Paul Sallarulo, Patrick Sallarulo, Miami Dolphin Ronnie Brown, Jacqueline Nicholson, Melanie Hoffman, Keith Costello

Swaying palm trees, a glowing bonfire, yummy hors d’oeuvres and great conversation.  All the ingredients for the perfect Power Party at a trendy hot spot in downtown Fort Lauderdale.  There were judges, attorneys, politicians, bankers and professional football players mixed in with March of Dimes staff, March for Babies Chairs, and me!

The party was hosted by Keith and Paul, our new March for Babies Chairpeople.  They are so warm and genuine, not to mention unbelievably connected and devoted to our cause.  Keith has four children and Paul has volunteered with Special Olympics for years with his son Patrick.   Keith and Paul have been working on a wish list of people – recruitees for new corporate and family teams – and they were all there last night.  I had the chance to say a few words and share our story.  That’s when I realized that every single guest was not just at that party to network, socialize, have a few drinks and leave – they were really there to listen to what we had to say and pledge their support to the March of Dimes.  They are powerful people who care!

Thanks to Keith and Paul we’re off to a great start!  Next week is our big March for Babies Kickoff.  Can’t wait.

Hi Josh. Wow – I really did bonk you on the head!! But it didn’t stop you from giving an A+ speech at our meeting with Mission Pharmacal. You were awsome! It was great to see you and your family. Thank you for being such a wonderful part of our March of Dimes family! See you soon. Jane
