A Very WHITE White House Visit – Part 1

February 10, 2010

I learned all about Mother Nature when we were getting ready for our next Ambassador Trip.  Destination:  Washington DC.  Weather report:  big big huge snow storm.  Mom told me it is the most snow that ever happened in Washington DC.  And we just HAVE to get there from Florida because we’re going to meet the President of the United States of America.

We were supposed to leave on Wednesday, February 10.  But we packed our things quickly and left Tuesday morning instead.  We took Continental Airlines to Newark Airport.  Then we took a taxi to the train station so we could take a train to DC.  Trains planes and automobiles!  All at the last minute and it was so much fun!!!

When we were at the train station waiting Mom called her best friend from college.  Auntie Judi works in the U.S. Attorney’s office in Newark (my Mom typed that part) so she came over to see us because it was close by and we don’t get to see her a lot.  We didn’t have much time – I think it was like 10 minutes total – but what a treat!  She helped us with our bags get to Track 3.  Alex fell on the escalator but he was okay.  We were in a hurry and had lots of bags and suitcases.  When we got on the train we got so confused with the doors opening and closing in between the trains.  It was pretty funny but we finally stored our bags and found some seats and made it to DC three hours later as the snow was falling to make a big huge snow storm!

Mom's best friend from college "Auntie" Judi came to see us off at the Newark Amtrak Train Station!

We made it to snowy Washington DC!!!

I’ve never seen snow flakes so big!!!  And it was very cold but we made it and now we’re all here at the hotel and ready to meet President Obama at 4:00 PM tomorrow.  It’s going to be a very WHITE White House visit!

Love, Josh
