Travel Day to Detroit

March 8, 2010

When we got to the President’s Club at the Fort Lauderdale Airport, Ms. Sheila saw us and said we’re leaving earlier and earlier! It was 7:00 in the morning and Alex and I were sipping apple juice looking out the window at all of the Continental Airlines planes getting ready to fly to so many different places around the world today. We love traveling! No matter how early we have to get up in the morning and how tired we may be, we always meet the coolest people and share the neatest things. Vickie who also works at the “P-Club” gave me a check for $50 to our Team Joshua Hoffman for March for Babies. We didn’t even ask her. I gave her a big hug and she was crying. She said her husband had polio and has one leg a little shorter than the other, but they always support the March of Dimes and she really wanted to give this to me. Now that is one cool person to see so early in the morning.

Our flight to Newark was a little bumpy and I thought it was a fun ride. My class at school studied clouds in science and I just took a test on the four different kinds of clouds last weekend. When we were in the sky I saw cirrus clouds. They are wispy and curly clouds. I could see the ground through them, too.

The flight attendants were all so cool as usual. They told everyone on the loud speaker to look in their Continental Magazine on page 6 because I was on that page and on that plane. It was so funny! Everyone on the plane took out their magazines to look. How oool!

At Newark airport we took the bus to go to Terminal A. When we got there we got to see Alison again and fly with her to Detroit! We love Auntie Alison! We get to go everywhere with her – she is from the March of Dimes National Office, she’s in charge of the National Ambassador Program, and she is so amazing and cool and fun and she always plans everything so perfectly for us wherever we go.

We love Alison!

Our plane to Detroit was a small Continental Express and I like those, too. We take off really fast and land fast, too. Sara Martin from the March of Dimes Detroit Chapter office was waiting for us when we landed in Detroit. She’s another really cool person. Not just because of all the things she’s working on for their walk here in Detroit…and not just because she gave us snow globes from Detroit to add to our snow globe collection!… but also because she’s 18 weeks pregnant with her first baby!

We checked into our hotel and took out all of our clothes from our suitcases so they wouldn’t be wrinkled when we wear them tomorrow.

Alex helped hang all of our guys' clothes nice and neat on this hanging thing.

We were tired and hungry so we ordered room service, had a yummy dinner, played with the Ipod a little bit, called Alison and looked for her room from our room, and went to sleep.

We always laugh when we play this bicycle racing game on our Ipod!

We like it here in Detroit!

Alison where are you?

We’re excited for our big day tomorrow with the Big 3!

Hey Josh! That was really something when Vickie gave you a check for $50.00 for the March of Dimes. You should be very proud of yourself that people love you and believe in what you are doing so much that they will make a donation without even being asked.
    Have fun today!!
    Mr Rick
