Springtime in DC

April 13, 2010

We arrived in Washington DC tonight.  Last time we were here was in February – February 10 to be exact.  That was the day that went down in record history for the biggest snowstorm of the century.  And the day before we went to the Oval Office to visit with President Obama.

Today, just two months later, it is springtime and it was raining when we arrived.  On our drive in from the airport, it was fun to see the Washington Monument and Jefferson Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial and the Capitol Building again.  I saw the big building where they make all of the money for the first time!

Tomorrow it is supposed to be sunny.  We have a meeting with Congresswoman Wasserman-Schultz from Florida (our hometown Representative).  In the evening is the Gourmet Gala.  Stay tuned!

Washington DC is one of my favorite cities….mainly because my oldest daughter Megan lives there!! She lives in College Park Maryland just a few miles outside the city and we love to go up and visit her. I love to see all the monuments that you saw on your way in from the airport. We have all seen them many times on TV etc but when you see them in real life it’s really special. I hope you have a nice visit with the good Congresswoman and have fun at the Gourmet Gala….can’t wait to hear all about it!!
